2024 Year in Review: New Heights

About 10 years ago, one simple question was asked that set everything in motion: "Want to start a band?” It's a question that, in one form or another, has echoed through musical history—John Lennon and his high school friends asked it in 1956, Mick Fleetwood posed it to Stevie Nicks just before New Year’s Eve in 1974, and in 2014, it was asked by Downbeat’s founder, Diego De La Rosa, to a group of close musician friends.

And with that question, a journey began.

Since then, that same spirit of curiosity and collaboration has been fueled by many other questions: "How can we help?", "What kind of music do you love?", "Can you tell us more about you?" Each answer, each connection, and each collaboration has played a vital role in helping Downbeat reach new heights and turn dreams into realities. We're beyond grateful for the trust and support we've received in these first ten years!

As 2024 draws to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on this past year!

75th & 76th Emmys

This past year we celebrated 2 awards shows including 75th Emmys in January & 76th Emmys in September! Click here for a highlight reel! It was such a memorable experience to do both in a single year.

Arena Love

Acrisure Arena in Greater Palm Springs welcomed us to their stage to celebrate all of their incredible team.

Celebrating a Legend

We were honored to celebrate industry icon Berry Gordy’s 95th birthday. In addition to our performance, special guest performances included Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, and Thelma Houston. It was a truly special night to remember.

Los Cabos, MX

2024 is the year we expanded our operations down to the paradise of Los Cabos, MX! Acre Resort Los Cabos, Esperanza Resort, and Chileno Bay Resort are just a few of the stunning venues we’ve had the honor of collaborating with. We’re thrilled to readily provide Downbeat quality production for any event in the region!

Content + Socials

We’ve spent time sharing more of our performances and it seems to have resonated! We gained over 80k followers this year across Instagram and TikTok and had multiple reels reach over 1 million views! It means a lot to us to have found people who support us and encourage us sharing our music online.

New HQ!

As of November, Downbeat has new headquarters for our LA branch. Based in Pasadena, CA, we’ve added multiple offices, recording studio, a kitchen, and a larger warehouse to accommodate the bigger productions we offer. Our neighbors include a local craft brewery Cerveceria Del Pueblo and storied family-owned Mexican restaurant Mijares. Don’t hesitate to visit us when you’re in the area!

We are ecstatic about this new chapter in our story and so happy to be able to share this with you all. Thank you for your support in 2024 and we look forward to seeing you in 2025!

73rd Emmy Awards Gala

Downbeat provided the entertainment for the 73rd Emmy Awards Gala. Our 17-piece orchestra performed for an unforgettable event including 5 lead singers from our east and west coast bands. We featured a string section and horn section that brought the energy for a great night of music.

Downbeat + GIFT Foundation of Hawaii

Gold Standard traveled to Honolulu to perform at the GIFT Foundation of Hawaii’s annual charity event. The “GIFT of Thrones” theme called for Kings and Queens attire, and the band did not disappoint! Planned by our friends at Blake Entertainment, it was an unforgettable evening hosted at Maui Brewing Company at the Waikiki Beachcomber by Outrigger.
